Becoming Who You Are is about creating a full and meaningful life with greater courage, compassion, and creativity.

We talk about topics like self-awareness, creativity, meaning, and more. More than anything, we cover taking these concepts and truly living them.

If you’re like me, you might feel bombarded with information, self-improvement advice, and have a perpetual list humming away in the background of your life, tallying all the things you feel you should be doing differently, more of, or improving. Becoming Who You Are is an invitation to quiet that hum and focus on your own values, your own internal guidance, and the path that is right for you.

Being human is a complex, beautiful, intense and rewarding experience. My hope is that this site encourages you to create your own personal adventure 🙂

“Just what I needed to hear. A beautiful combination of wisdom, compassion (for oneself and others) and acceptance, with a healthy dose of self love and boundary setting.”

—Nicola, Hungary

About Hannah

I started this site as a personal blog in 2010. I became interested in psychology and personal development after going through my own challenges and created this space to process and share my ideas, questions, and inspiration with a few friends. Over the past 10 years, the site has grown and evolved into its current iteration.

I’m an author and rational optimist who is fascinated by the intersection of life and work, psychology theory and IRL application, creativity and self-expression. My work has been featured in Lifehacker, Huffington Post, The Telegraph, Psych Central and Thought Catalog. I’m a Myers-Briggs INFJ, love the works of Carl Rogers and Brené Brown (among others), and I solemly swear I will never use phrases like “raise your vibration.”

LOVED your videos on “The Empowerment Dynamic.” You are a very concise and eloquent speaker, Hannah and we have many things in common as I too teach thing similar to you, I’m a fellow INFJ and I adore learning about what makes people tick, including myself. Cheers to you for doing such beautiful “heartwork!”

Loved the article about using the phrase I prefer to instead of the word should.
